A Basque dubbed version of Detective Pikachu was also produced and shown in cinemas starting from May 10. Goh is voiced by Jon Samaniego who previously voiced Corey in M22 and Tim Goodman in Detective Pikachu Print quality– Compare the printing – especially all the card text – against the printing on a genuine card. If anything is noticeably blurrier or less sharp – especially the smaller-print text towards the bottom of the card – that’s a strong indicator the card is fake. Eduardo del Hoyo voices as the narrator (except in M19 who is voiced by Nacho Aramburú) and additional voices. According to Goldin Auctions, only 14 of the silver Pikachu No.2 cards are believed to exist based on the limited availability during the two tournaments, with just four copies reported by grading specialist PSA, making them among the very rarest Pokémon cards.

Not only did contest winners receive multiple copies of a card that featured their very own winning design, which was exciting in its own right, each of them also received a copy of the Pikachu Illustrator card as an additional prize. This goes doubly if you’re testing holographic cards, where you can often spot a fake immediately by comparing the areas covered by the holographic foil (more on that later). Heritage Auctions called the first-edition Charizard "arguably the hottest card in the entire hobby", with only 121 copies reportedly graded as Gem Mint 10 by PSA. The Iberian Spanish dub of the Pokémon anime is recorded and produced in Madrid, Spain and was previously licensed by entertainment company BRB Internacional. The series has been dubbed in five different dubbing studios. Originally, the series was dubbed in Telson, which dubbed the series from the first season until the eighth season and movies 4 and 5. After this, Telson went out of business, so the series was moved to Arait Multimedia, which recorded the ninth season and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate!. Starting from the tenth season, the series moved to 103 Todd-AO, which dubbed the series until the sixteenth season, when the series was moved to Tecnison, S.A. until season seventeen. The dub of these seasons was produced by SDI Media Poland. In season 18, the series moved to SDI Media Spain. And with that, let’s get into the nitty gritty of those key steps, so we can start identifying some fakes, and sorting your actual shiny Charizard from the nefarious impostors hiding out in your collection. The Neo Genesis 1st Edition Holo Lugia #9 Pokémon card is described by auction house PWCC as one of the most difficult Pokémon cards to grade, as the result of a number of errors and misprints that were included in the early runs of the Neo Genesis set for the Pokémon TCG. Later print runs were corrected, but many of the cards from the expansion remain more common in their earlier uncorrected forms. Whether you’re curious how much your own card collection is worth, wondering if that rare card is really that rare or just wanting to gaze in amazement at the thousands and millions of dollars dropped on a piece of cardboard, this list of the top 23 rare and most expensive Pokémon cards will have you covered.

Iris is voiced by Belén Rodriguez who also provides the voice for Solana (except in the 2 part Deoxys episodes) and Salvia. Cilan ( Millo) is voiced by Fernando Cabrera who also voices Harley in Pokémon Battle Frontier and Khoury. Behind the significant leap in value is a phenomenon dubbed the “Waifu Tax”, which saw Pokémon cards featuring female characters jump in value - with the slang term emerging from a subset of anime fans and online forum users who use it to refer to characters they find attractive or otherwise desirable. The trend is a troubling one, as many of Pokémon’s most popular characters are children - in the case of Lillie, 11 years old. No. 2 Trainer’s rarity and value put it close to the legendarily expensive No. 1 Trainer in terms of rare Pokémon cards - making it one of Pokémon’s most sought-after cards. The 2002 No. 1 Trainer card was illustrated by Ken Sugimori, best known as being one of the original artists and designers for Pokémon's first generation of 151 Pokémon. The text on it reads: "The Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament Battle Road Spring 2002 champion is recognised here, and his honour is praised." Sugimori's No. 1 Trainer artwork - featuring fan-favourite Pokémon such as Pikachu, Chansey and Marrill - is exclusive to the card, making it especially unique.Currently, Asmodee is selling the TCG since the HeartGold & SoulSilver expansion. Once again, Asmodee decided that some expansions were not worth releasing in Spain, with the Undaunted, Triumphant, Call of Legends, Dark Explorers, Plasma Blast, Legendary Treasures, Dragon Vault, and Double Crisis being absent. However, despite physical cards from these expansions not being printed, all of them were translated and can be found in Spanish in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online app. From Roaring Skies on, all expansions have been released in Spain.

The Japanese text on the card reads: “We certify that your illustration is an excellent entry in the Pokémon Card Game Illust Contest. Therefore, we state that you are an Officially Authorized Pokémon Card Illustrator and admire your skill."Just so we’re clear: this guide isn’t the same as professional advice from a TCG dealer – we’re just laying out the bare essentials to pinning down a fake. If you’re considering handing over serious cash for rare Pokémon cards, we’d strongly recommend getting an expert to help identifythem (more on that later). In the case of the Neo Summer Battle Road National No. 2 Trainer card, the card features a picture of Japanese Pokémon fan Takahiro Ikeda. However, the difficulty of finding this card in top condition propels it even further into the upper echelons of expensive Pokemon cards. On an authentic card, that diagonal sweep is dappled with the dark blue colour underneath – as in the photo above.
