There are 7 areas of learning within the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. These are separated into 'prime areas' and 'specific areas'. If you needed an excuse to buy more potato chips, here it is! After all, once you pop, the fun just doesn't stop! Now, the fun can continue for your entire school year! The only hurdle was when we’re all going for the same piece – which will happen – resulting in a few tangled pieces. It didn’t take long to untangle ourselves, however a four year old isn’t the most gentle of creatures when trying to untangle jelly from jelly, meaning we often had to grab T’s slime hand from him. I don’t know how durable the ‘slime’ is, but we were weren’t willing to test it out! With family game nights being a firm favourite when it comes to things we like doing of an evening, it’s becoming a challenge to find new games to play. Don’t get me wrong, there are several games that we play time and time again, or ones that are always at the top of T’s suggestion list if given the choice. But, sometimes, we don’t fancy playing tumbling monkeys four times in a row. DAD: Not quite, but very close! You see its all about that end bit of the word. Car… Star… Can you hear that ’ar’ sound? Whereas hair ends in an ’air’ sound. ’Ar’, ’Air’, ’Car’, ’Hair’. Can you hear the difference? It takes a few swings to get the hang of the game, and even more to perfect your timing, so this original game is a real money maker. With a little teasing you’ll soon have all the lads and the dads trying to prove their sporting skills, and with a little more sneaky showmanship you can get the girls involved too try and show the men how it’s done. Before you know it, you’ll have people queuing up to take a swing, sending your takings flying upwards as fast as the monster flies down.They're based in convenient locations including supermarkets, newsagents and train stations. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays. The game is really easy to learn, and because of it’s fast pace, most games last between 10 minutes (if you’re truly skilled) and 20 minutes – perfect for after school. I imagine if there are more players or those with less tuned coordination it’ll take longer. That being said, I’m not the most coordinated person (I broke my foot getting changed once) and after a few minutes practising I was able to snatch a few cards.
