For this recipe I used white chocolate chips instead of white chocolate melting wafers or disks. This is because the flavor of white chocolate is better than the melting disks. Like most of the other, newer flavours, at 226 this bar has a few more calories than the older range. The carbs are also a little higher at 20g, but this is matched by Grenade’s standard 20g of protein. The milk chocolate coating is, as expected, silky and sweet, whilst the nougat-y base is dark and rich, adding that hint of saltiness so beloved of an Oreo biscuit. White Chocolate with Sweetener (23%) (Sweetener: Maltitol; Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Emulsifier: Soy Lecithin; Natural Flavouring), Protein Blend (Calcium Caseinate ( Milk), Whey Protein Isolate ( Milk)), Bovine Collagen Hydrolysate, Humectant: Glycerol; Sweeteners: Maltitol, Sucralose; Palm Oil, Water, Fat- reduced Cocoa Powder (3%), Wheat Flour, Wheat Starch, Rapeseed Oil, Bulking Agent: Polydextrose; Sea Salt, Emulsifier: Soy Lecithin; Raising Agents: Ammonium Carbonates, Sodium Carbonates; Acidity Regulator: Sodium Hydroxide; Flavouring. Overall this wouldn’t be my go-to flavour – the banana flavour is just too artificial. It gets a 5/10 primarily because of the great texture and macros we’ve come to expect from the Carb Killa range. Peanut Nutter – 8/10Now, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I certainly used to rely on ‘Carb Killas’ (as the name suggests) to be a go-to, lower carb bar, so the higher carb count is something to watch. Lift the whole sheet of Oreo bars out of the pan by grabbing the parchment paper and place on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut 9 square bars. Grenade released this flavour in 2016 but, convinced I hated mint chocolate, I’ve waited until now to try it. I’m impressed once again, but as I said, fudge brownie is a pretty standard flavour. It’s not my favourite of the bars so far, but it’s absolutely worth a try, if not only for a break from your average protein bar. Dark Chocolate Mint – 8/10 Dark chocolate mint is a classic flavour and hard to mess up. BUT as a previous mint chocolate #hater, I have to say I’m blown away by this bar. The mint flavour doesn’t remind me of toothpaste, mixing well with the dark chocolate and leaving you with a refreshing aftertaste.

Because we have real OREO pieces in our OREO bar, the bar contains wheat unlike the rest of the Grenade Protein Bar range. Our OREO Protein bars contain Milk, Soya and Wheat indefinitely, they may contain traces of nuts and mustard. WARNINGS: It makes a nice change and it’s certainly better than the Chocolate Crunch the brand brought out a couple of years ago, but I’d go for the Fudge Brownie bar over this any day. Peanut Butter and Jelly – 9/10 The white chocolate is the only difference to the OG Oreo bar. You still get the soft, crumbly core, authentic vanilla crème and real Oreo pieces, just now with a creamy white chocolate coating.
