HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Appointments can be made by telephoning 0844 477 3052 or contacting the surgery in person. Consultations will normally be with the doctor with whom you are registered. If your doctor is not available you may be offered an appointment with another doctor. We can also offer an appointment with a health care professional within 48 hours.

Triage - If you have a new condition and need to be seen on the same day, you will be put through to our highly trained triage nurses or health visitors (in the case of children under five years). They are able to treat and advise on a wide range of conditions, or where appropriate, make an appointment for you to be seen by a doctor.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please phone to cancel AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS

BRMC have a strict ‘Did Not Attend’ (DNA) policy.
If a patient misses two appointments in three months without good reason they are sent a letter informing them that they run the risk of being removed from our practice list.
If three appointments are missed in a three-month period without good reason then the patient is removed from our practice list.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN A HOME VISIT?

If you are housebound or too ill to come to the surgery a doctor will visit you at home. It is helpful if requests are made before 10.00am - including weekends and bank holidays. You will be asked to give a few details about what is wrong. Visits are usually done after morning surgery but if you feel the visit is urgent please tell the receptionist and she will immediately speak to a doctor. If you can get to the surgery this helps us as the doctor can see three patients in surgery in the time it takes to make one home visit, and we have better facilities in the surgery for examination and treatment.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN TEST RESULTS?

It remains the patient's responsibility to contact the surgery regarding results of blood, urine, ECG test and x-rays.

Please allow five working days before contacting the surgery after 11.00am. When appropriate, the surgery may TEXT your results to your mobile phone.

For reasons of confidentiality, without prior consent, results can only be given to patients themselves, or to the parents of young children.

HOW DO I...
CHANGE MY DETAILS?

If you change your name, address or telephone number, please let us know.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION?

If you are on medication and your doctor feels that your medicines can be repeated without seeing you each time, you will be given a computer repeat prescription slip. Either hand in or post your prescription request, ticking the items you need, allowing up to 48 hours for the prescription to be available. if you supply a stamped addressed envelope, we can return the prescription to you. Alternatively, all the chemists operate a service for receiving and collecting repeat prescriptions to and from the surgery. If you wish to use this service, please indicate which chemist you want to use.

If you are housebound, elderly or involved in an emergency, you may request your prescription by telephoning 0844 477 3052 between 9.30 - 11.00am weekdays.
