About this deal

Some parts of this were really interesting and had some great ideas/fun facts about things that tied in nicely. Their concept of 'truthiness'-- the grainy, broken, inconsistent appearance of truth in reality and more intensely in art- is quite compelling.

In twenty short books, Penguin Classics brings you the ideas that have changed the way we think and talk about the living Earth. In a 2021 Zoom conference titled The Garden and the Dump: Across More-than-Human Entanglements, climate philosopher Timothy Morton (they/them) gave a performative rant on the abomination of the American lawn. Started as one of my artist practices, CAP became also a cultural association based in Rome, that coordinated all the initiatives. His conceptual imagery is characterized by the presence of natural elements, such as rocks and minerals. With skewed synths, elusive drones and tape loops seemingly inspired by a diet of Björk and Julianna Barwick, All Art Is Ecological is a record that slowly creeps into your orbit. Scott Newstok, Professor of English, Director of the Pearce Shakespeare Endowment, Rhodes College, and author of How to Think like Shakespeare: Lessons from a Renaissance Education. There was a lot of waffle in between and at parts I was confused at what the author wanted to really say/if they were actually saying anything?

It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. As we are living in the age of extinction, art can help us embrace the moment and live central in our own catastrophe. Morton tears apart the ideologies of modern environmentalism in the climate crisis, adamant on a wider lens of ecology and the meaning of ‘nature’- almost akin to Jane Bennett. Though caught in the net of many criticisms, climate change art plays a crucial role in allowing the public to rethink the role of human beings’ everyday activities in irrevocably altering the climate system – it makes the Anthropocene a cultural reality. In this paper, I take a critical look at the stated motivations and experienced outcomes of climate change art, by analyzing the statements of over 20 artists and the comments made by curators, critics and members of the general public.
