About this deal

I loved the fake relationship. I loved how their romance is friends to lovers. I always love when there’s a foundation of friendship from which the romance can be built upon. Conor is SUCH a nice guy, and definitely a reformed manwhore kind of hero. He realizes soon enough that Taylor is it for him, and is so patient with her and her insecurities with herself and her body. (Though there is something towards the end of the book that he does that annoyed me.) But as much as I love a flawed heroine, Taylor did get on my nerves more often than not. I completely understand feeling insecure about one’s body, but it felt like Taylor was a bit careless with Conor because of those insecurities. She’s fat and thinks she’s nowhere near Conor’s level of gorgeous and therefore doesn’t deserve him. But that’s why his patience was a perfect match for Taylor, and by the end of the book I was happy with how their romance turned out.

Coral! Right. That’s her name. And it sounds as stupid now as it did when she introduced herself fifteen minutes ago. hogy Fitz előbujt az árnyékból, és ehhez csak egy bizonyos nő kellett. :-D Being bullied in her sorority at Briar U is nothing new for her. Neither are the douchebags that talk to her cleavage instead of her face. Behind those curves is a bright, whip-smart, snarky young woman who just feels real and authentic. I loved that so much about her. The guy who sees all that and more hides his insecurities behind a golden boy smile and looks. He was raised dirt-poor and only good fortune made it possible for him to go to an Ivy league school. He never feels he belongs, really. Kennedy delivers an incredible romance full of friendship, love, and enough sexual tension to lose your damn mind!”— Shayna Renee’s Spicy ReadsA legacy,” she repeats, “but we don’t adhere as strictly to those ancestral bonds the way we used to.” Even with all the drama, ”BRIAR U” is shaping up to be another sure-fire hit series for Ms. Kennedy.

I enjoyed this book for the most part. This was insanely readable, at least for me it was. I could not put this book down. Summer was a really fun and refreshing character. She's unabashedly feminine and makes no apologies for loving clothes, makeup, reality shows, and other feminine coded things that are usually considered as negatives in romance heroines. But this is exactly why I enjoyed her character. Summer was fun and hilarious. She had her insecurities, which I will get into a little bit, but overall, I love Summer. My gaze lands on my new boots, courtesy of Nana Celeste. At least I’ve had smashing success in the shoe department. And I’d rather not live in a dorm if I can help it. Sharing a bathroom with a dozen other girls is my worst nightmare. I had to do it in the Kappa house at Brown, but the private bedroom made the bathroom situation easier to swallow. No way will there be any singles left in the dorms this far into the school year.

The tears I’ve been holding at bay are no longer controllable. Two fat drops slide down my cheeks, and I’m so glad Dean isn’t here to witness it. It’s bad enough that he can hear me crying. her love interest, fitz, couldn't be more different. tattooed, video game designer, and very much not the life of the party. but they are inexplicably drawn to each other. and they definitely share more common interests than they initially think.

Summer has had a crush on Collin (Fitzy) ever since they first met But he has barely spoken two words to her ever. Finally, on the night that they finally get to spend a little time together, they are both flirting. She is sure she is sensing an attraction from him, until she overhears what he really thinks. If you're looking for a swoony and steamy New Adult sports romance, this will certainly fit the bill. Was it my favorite in the series. Not quite. But it still hit the spot just right.I have two older brothers who never, ever pass up an opportunity to tease or embarrass me, but sometimes they display rare moments of compassion. “Don’t call Dad yet,” Dean says gruffly. “Let me see what I can do first.” Unfortunately, this book didn't deliver the kind of romance that I would associate with Elle Kennedy. The Chase by Elle Kennedy is about a wealthy college student, Summer Heyward-Di Laurentis, and her life living with her crush, Colin Fitzgerald. As someone whose favorite genre of books is realistic fiction and as someone who also loves romantic books, I enjoyed The Chase. One of my favorite aspects of the book was the constant push and pull and the slow burn between the two characters. There are times where they help each other out and progress their relationship further. Then there are other times where both Colin and Summer cause a digression in their relationship. This push and pull made the story very interesting and pushed me to continue to read the book. I also really loved this book because of how much I related to Summer. Throughout the story, Summer suffers from a lot of insecurities and this plays a part in how she made her decisions. For instance, Hunter, one of her other roommates, has a crush on her. Colin does not make it apparent that he has feelings for Summer, so Summer decides to take a chance with Hunter. Even though she does have feelings for Hunter in the way that she has feelings for Colin, she still goes along with it. All she ever wanted was to be wanted by somebody, which is something that I can heavily relate to. However, this aspect of Summer annoyed me because she is leading Hunter on even when she knows that Colin was the one who truly has her heart. There were also aspects of Colin’s character that I did not enjoy and I wish he could have been portrayed in a better light. The last part of the book in my opinion was a lot better than the earlier parts, which is another reason why I gave it the rating I did. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the romance and the fighting off feelings between both characters and the whole book in general. The other thing I didn't like was how the only queer character in the whole book was treated. I won't go into details but basically, this character was outed in the worst way possible. It left such a bad taste in my mouth because this character was just there to serve as a device for the final conflict in the book. What begins then, is the most sexually charged game of push and pull I've read in a while. Summer is determined to stay away from Colin. Colin doesn't want to want Summer, but can't help but be pulled into her orbit. Colin's buddy and other roommate, Hunter, wants Summer. Summer doesn't want to want Colin, but also has no reason to turn down Hunter. Oh the madness of it all!
