Recently took a motoring holiday and as the 512 quality is full HD the dash cam footage forms an integral part of the finished holiday video, and I uploaded the days clips each evening, and cleared the card before the next days clips. I seem to remember being told if you want some other position, just unplug and plug back in the rear camera leaving the main unit powered (don't quote me). This means that you can send the videos straight to your smartphone or tablet to view and share the footage.

The front cam is attached via a suction mount, while the rear camera is attached the rear windscreen via adhesive mount - which means it shouldn't ever fall off even if you slam your boot door hard.

Please remember that after this test your Dash Cam will once again need charging as the battery will be flat. Other cables we’ve seen have been significantly thinner, and it’s hard to conclude Nextbase chose this because if offered better quality. If you also use the Rear Camera added, the battery life is reduced due to the additional power draw. But the cheaper Nextbase 412GW is a good option, or for more features, the 612GW is top of the range.

I have just purchased nexbase 512gw front rear camera from Halfords and fitted it to an Audi A6 avant.You can also rotate the display, should you want to mount the camera upside down – although the menu buttons stay where they are. Fault:- when first power up after connecting 512 to rear cam then inserting 512 into windscreen mount is the PiP of rear view is just an outline.
