It is too quite complicated and I still needed someones' else help because I couldn't see what I was doing.It is smooth, powerful, consistent, and offers everything I have needed and more so far for me to do anything that I want, learning and exploring. Mechanical machines are wonderful, but remember you are 100% in control the machine is not going to do anything for you. My last machine just didn't last that long, however, and I was disappointed and honestly never felt like the motor on it was ever all that strong anyway compared to others of similar models in the past. You should consult the manual for your machine to ensure that the machine is set up correctly when sewing different fabrics, and always sew test samples to get the best possible stitch quality and to achieve perfectly balanced tension.
