Those collective bonds were fraying before Trump hit the scene. One early internet post from “Q”, the anonymous instigator of the conspiracy, read: “Hillary Clinton will be arrested between 7.45am-8.30am EST on Monday – the morning on 30 October 2017.” Six days later, on Jan. 26, a Reddit user posted the same picture in r/pics again with the following caption that mentioned China: "Trump 2024 flags being sewn in a Chinese factory… MERICA!!!" While the caption didn't explicitly say that the flags in the photograph showed official Trump merchandise, several of the comments did appear to reflect this belief. The FactsIn his speech to “about 250 of the Republican party’s top donors at the elite Four Seasons” hotel, the Post said, Trump echoed GOP talking points against Joe Biden, claiming Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if he, Trump, had still been in power. The flag originated well before the American Revolution, and in recent years it has been used by the tea party movement and, at times, members of the militia movement. But it has also been used to represent the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. men’s national soccer team and a Major League Soccer franchise. QAnon is sufficiently amorphous to adapt to changing facts and realities. It can muster the devotion and fanaticism of a religious group. The dream never dies. With his first book, the Daily Beast reporter jumps into this steaming cauldron of conspiracy and distrust. He emerges to offer a close examination of the rise and continued presence of QAnon on the US political landscape. According to Jacob “the flag has no association with racism, hatred, bigotry” and it is used to “show support for law enforcement”, he told the Marshall Project.
The “Blue Lives Matter” banner he displayed—a modified American flag with one blue stripe, honoring the police—no doubt angered those who favor “defunding“ law-enforcement agencies. Flown by many protesters at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the Gadsden flag has a design that is simple and graphic: a coiled rattlesnake on a yellow field with the text “Don’t Tread On Me.” But that simple design hides some important complexities, both historically and today, as it appears in rallies demanding President Donald Trump be allowed to remain in office. While the fairly low-quality image of the "Chinese factory" did not appear to be doctored, it was unclear if it was originally a still photograph or a screenshot from a video. Also unclear were the names of the city and factory where the picture was taken. 'Save America'
A symbol awoken
The women had stopped because Hartley has “an amazing respect for veterans” and had recently sought to join the military. At least some of those plates charge additional fees for the special plate, sending proceeds to nonprofit organizations. Scalia spoke about the matter in a 2012 interview with CNN, saying that while he did not approve of flag burning, it is fundamentally protected by the Constitution and the Founding Fathers’ efforts to create a government not ruled by tyranny.
