About this deal

Rub n buff can be used on really any surface! You don’t need to prime first, you can just apply directly to any surface you’d like. One of the great things about Rub-n-Buff is that you can use it on almost any hard surface. I’ve personally used it on picture frames, toilet plumbing lines, light fixtures, and drawer hardware. I’ve also seen it used furniture legs, glass etchings, and to highlight furniture trim/detail work. Let’s talk about my most recent project using Rub N Buff and look at the complete transformation of the wall lamps in my master bedroom.

This shade is a deep brown with hints of red and orange. It’s perfect for giving paintings an antique look And of course, you’ll need the object you’ll be transforming along with a paper plate, paper towel or any clean surface to blend the Rub ‘n Buff. The instructions behind using this product are LITERALLY spelled out in its name. First, you rub it on (wait a few minutes for it to dry), and then begin buffing the item with a cloth or sponge. The more you buff the item, the more shine you will get. One coat of this stuff works wonders, and if you feel you need a second coat, that is completely up to you and your project. This color is a light silver that almost resembles aluminum foil! It’s perfect for painting metal objects like vases or picture frames Here are some other ways to use Rub and Buff, although it definitely isn’t a comprehensive list. I’d love to hear about your project. Share in the comments how you have used Rub and Buff!My favorite way to use Rub-n-Buff is on lighting. This is probably because when we moved into our home, all of our light fixtures were that 1980s shiny yellow brass color. I love brass, but not 80s brass. At the same time, though, the style of the light fixtures (particularly the sconces) was very classic, so I couldn’t see spending a ton of money to change them out. It opens up a whole new world for thrift store finds that you love but are the wrong finish – all you have to do is rub and buff them. It’s also so easy to update outdated items in your home and give them new life. A creamy light blue. Patina is the color that real copper turns when exposed to the elements and agent over time

If brass isn’t on your color palette, Rub and Buff has several other finish options to choose from. They all go on the same way – by rubbing and buffing – but some of them, like silver, have a slightly different spreading consistency. Rub onto clean, dry, or previously painted surfaces or on post-fired ceramics with a finger or soft cloth, then gently buff to a beautiful luster. Normally, I would use my finger but for sample purposes, I did use gloves as to not mix any of the colors. Rub it on and then buff it out, a little goes a long way! If you need another coat be sure to let the first coat dry completely first. Objects Makeup brush — Obviously you won’t be using it on your face again, so don’t use your favorite brush! It must be stiff and not fluffy (a blending brush works well) and you’ll want super fine/soft bristles for best results. If you don’t have any handy, I love this inexpensive brush set and use it for makeup, but the stiffer large brushes will work for this project. Make sure the makeup brush is completely clean and dry.Rub N Buff is a paste type substance with a unique blend of Carnauba wax, fine metallic powders and many unique and select pigments. It is a great alternative to spray paints, and a little definitely goes a long way. It comes in 9 different shades including Antique Gold, Autumn Gold, Ebony, European Gold, Gold Leaf, Grecian Gold, Pewter, Silver Leaf, and Spanish Copper. It comes in a small 1/2 oz tube, but believe me, a little goes a long way. Over the past couple of months I have been searching for some new light fixtures for the sides of my bed. We currently have some wall lamps on both sides of the bed. Over the past year have wanted something new to go better with my new bed frame. I felt like the dark color of the lamps was overwhelming with the dark upholstered headboard.
