Medical advice should be sought if this is the first time the patient has experienced symptoms of candidal vaginitis. Special precautions: As with other pessaries, this product may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives, such as condoms or diaphragms. Consequently, you should use alternative precautions for at least five days after using this product. Clotrimazole acts against fungi by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis. Inhibition of ergosterol synthesis leads to structural and functional impairment of the fungal cytoplasmic membrane. Next few days: sleep naked, cotton pants, no tights or skinny jeans, apply cream at the entrance to and slightly inside your vagina, and then all over the vulva too. Azoles (e.g. clotrimazole) are usually recommended for the local treatment of vulvovaginal candidosis that is characterized by vulvovaginal symptoms such as itching, burning, discharge, redness, swelling and soreness.Been ill for 4 weeks now (2 x bouts tonsillitis, mouth sore infection now this last week Thrush). I've only had vaginal thrush 4 times in my life but had ductal thrush when breast feeding which was hard to shift. Since then, this is my second bout of vaginal thrush. Can's seem to shift it this time and symptoms are worse than before- really red and inflamed, white patches near bottom of labia which feel like blisters, heavy discharge and major itching. Doctor wasn't concerned at all and prescribed canesten hc and said just try a pessary again. I've now tried 3 pessary- first 2 didn't dissolve and fell out whole in the morning. 3rd one (last night) was soft gel pessary which started leaking out after an hour and half doesn't seem to have worked either. Last time I had thrush the gel pessary worked pretty much straight away.

Remove the applicator. Throw the applicator away safely, out of the reach of children. Do not flush it down the toilet. The soft gel pessary and cream should not be used if the patient has any of the following symptoms whereupon medical advice should be sought: Treatment during the menstrual period should not be performed due to the risk of the pessary being washed out by the menstrual flow.
