Kingsbury always knows how to keep a plot moving, so that wasn't an issue with this book. I think the problem for me was the characters, in particular Mary Katherine. I just felt like she was being ridiculous. She was creating her own problems and drama in this book by not just telling people about her health problems, and it made me mad that she kept leading Marcus on only to push him away. It was under the guise of being selfless, because she didn't want him to love her if she was going to die, but I really think she was just being selfish. He deserved to know the truth and make his own decision. Her unrealistic medical expectations (i.e.. "My doctors tell me to be careful with adrenaline because of my heart, but I'm going to skydive and swim with sharks and nothing bad will ever happen to me" - okay, she didn't say that, but it seemed to be her attitude), and her harping on natural eating (so adrenaline won't have an affect on your heart, but sugar will?) just overall annoyed me. Not to mention that her attitudes about these different things seemed conflicting. I just didn't understand her, she didn't seem like she could be a real person to me, so I had a hard time relating to her as a character. A series of small miracles leads Tyler to a maintenance job at a retirement home and a friendship with Virginia Hutcheson, an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s, who strangely might have the answers he so desperately seeks. Explain the chain of events that led Tyler to a new life of grace. Talk about a time when a series of unusual events led to something life-changing for you or someone you know.The main character in this story is named Mary Catherine. She grew up in a home that was comfortable and never wanted for anything. Her parents may have been wealthy, but the lifestyle that they chose to lead always left her wanting something different for herself and her life. Tonbridge Angels is expanding its work in the local community by offering footballing activities for children up to the age of 14 together with Walking Football for the over 50's all on the new 3G pitch at Longmead Stadium. These initiatives follow its already well established school holiday soccer camps. Even though there were suspenseful times in the story, the action moves along at a consistent pace and the prose is almost soothing rather than anxiety producing. The characters' personalities are well developed as there is quite a bit of contemplation by them recorded. Mary Catherine grew up in a comfortable home and wanted for nothing. Though she loves her wealthy parents, their lifestyle never appealed to her. Instead, Mary Catherine pursues meaning through charity work, giving away a part of herself but never giving away her heart.

I love how I was truly able to know the characters on a deeper level. I felt empathy for the characters at their pain and I felt their happiness. All of the characters to me felt realistic and like I could imagine them to be real people. I also did enjoy the angels in this book and how they each played a role in the main characters lives. Explain the role fear played in Sami’s life. How has fear shaped your life or your behavior? Are you a people pleaser? Explain. No! Tyler wanted to shout at him. But the pain was too great. I’ll never be okay again. The man was staring at him, his eyes bright with something Tyler didn’t recognize. Peace, maybe. Something otherworldly.
