About this deal

Onboard chromatic tuner supports all standard guitar and bass tunings, including open and drop tunings If you want to try an updated version that's a bit better with some of the MS-60B effects, get it here, but you have to have the latest Java Runtime Environment installed. Some of the effects are too similar to others. It would have been better to combine a few of them into-one and increase the parameter settings (to save scrolling through and exploring separate pedals)

The resulting synth sound itself is fantastic, of course, but the final killer blow was when at the Remove effects that are similar to each other. Here are some ideas, up to you what you want to keep or get rid of. I suggest testing them and letting your ear decide. This applies to the MS-70CDR but the same general idea goes for the other pedals too. The latest version has 137 effects and 50 user patches (says the box on mine, firmware 2.0, but mine actually has firmware 3.0...).I think I have the 50G running on the latest too, I had to update it from 2.0. from what I can tell, the 50 and 70 are basically the same except the 70 has stereo in. you can't get all the FX onto the unit at the same time, it seemed to me. so you have to choose what to put in there. I'm not sure if you can put the bass amps in though. or maybe you can but I just didn't. I'd have put it all on if I could I suppose. also some of the other FX take more DSP, so you hit the DSP limit faster. If you have an MS-50G or MS-60B and you are creating a custom firmware for that pedal, then open the firmware file for that pedal ("ZOOM MS-50G System v3.10 Updater" or "ZOOM MS-60B v2.10 Updater"). The reverbs don't seem very "expansive" and don't seem to add much dimension to the sound (I have a Boss RV500 that I'm 50/50 on selling, so trying to find some good ambient reverbs that might justify me getting rid of it)

MS-100BT: (discontinued, but still available) makes both bass and guitar effects available in one pedal, all effects must be loaded via StompShare app, a bit time-consuming, (might take a few hours) but once their in, you’ll never have to do that again. In this way, the MS-3 can be used either as the starting point to a small, flexible board, or the final pedal to round one off. You can trust Guitar World Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing guitar products so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test. A parameter is like a knob or switch on a pedal. Each effect can have up to 9 parameters, which you can adjust to alter the sound of the effect. These settings are saved with your patch in the memory of the multistomp. MS-50G: mono input, stereo out, USB connectivity, good range of all guitar effects, and you can change them out with Zoom's effect editor. Primarily designed for guitar. Can use 6 effects at once. With the effect editor, you can choose from 172 effects, although the actual amount of effects the pedal can hold ranges from about 50 to 100.

The MS-70CDR is even a stereo processor, although you can use it with a mono signal. It runs either Lets say you are new to effects. You don't have much of an idea about them and you'd like to know what they do and sound like. With a total of 86 effects you'll never be short of dialing in the perfect sound with the Zoom MS-70CDR. There are 16 different chorus effects, 26 delays, 29 reverbs and 15 various modulation effects such as flangers, tremolos, vibratos, phasers and modulators. My next task is to determine which add-ons I want to have regular access to. I’m taking some notes and kind of weighing the various categories & tones. If I ever need any of the others, I can load them later, assuming the StompShare app is functional when that time comes. That’s why I want to choose carefully now.The Zoom MS-70CDR is a multi-effect pedal obviously meant primarily for guitarists, but did you know You can also use a USB MIDI controller, such as the DMC.micro with Ghost Adapter or similar a USB/MIDI controller, to add a couple more footswitches to cycle through patches, then use the main footswitch on the MultiStomp as a bypass switch. On the other hand, you may already have Chorus. Delay and Reverb units in your pedalboard but are somewhat curious about what it would sound like to pair them with - lets say - 6 extra choruses or 6 delays or any other mix of time based effects the CDR is full of.

For the Amps, you probably don't need them all. For example, there are four vintage Fenders (B-MAN Deluxe-R, FD Combo, FD Vibro, US Blues) and four vintage Marshalls (B-Breaker, MS 1959, MS Crunch, Marshall Super Bass I). Whether or not the pedal has amp simulation is an important factor, as amp modelling is difficult and taxing on a DSP chip. As a result, normally at the budget end of the market you wouldn't expect to see decent amp modelling.

I suppose the most rewarding application is to set up some "complex" delay/reverb patches (chaining more than one effect)... different chorus and modulation effects for guitar and bass are provided, including phasing, flanging, tremolo, vibrato, detuning, auto-panning, rotary speaker emulations, and pitch shifting—even an intelligent harmonizer that plays along in key. Vintage sounds include simulations of the TC Electronic Corona Chorus and Tri-Chorus, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus and CE-1 /CE-5 Chorus Ensembles, MXR M234 Analog Chorus, and Electro-Harmonix SmallClone, as well as the ADA flanger. If you can get two pedals, get the MS-50G or MS-60B, plus an MS-70CDR. These two combined will cover pretty much all your needs. The Zoom MS70CDR’s compact, easy-to-use design features a large LCD screen, single footswitch and analog-style cursor keys/parameter knobs. Together, they allow you to easily control the pedal’s 86 diverse effects types, including some of the world’s most popular chorus, delay and reverb pedals (SuperCho, AnalogDly, Spring, etc.), as well as create and store up to 50 of your own sounds.
