About this deal

Overall, the machine worked equally well on both hard floors and carpet and was especially invaluable for vacuuming stairs when a cable would get in the way. You do have to keep your finger on the trigger while cleaning which can be a little tiring if you’re doing a full house blitz but it didn’t bother us. It’s also on the noisy side, so you probably won’t do much cleaning when the kids are in bed. Otherwise, we found the pro 2 a gamechanger for keeping the house tidy, even when we didn’t feel like doing a top-to-toe vacuum. The verdict: Gtech pro 2 Unlike many cordless vacuums, the Gtech pro 2 uses bags, and the ongoing cost of these could put some people off this model. However, four are included in the box and each has a decent 1.5l capacity, lasting around a month when regularly vacuuming in a house with (long-haired!) children. We found obvious improvements on the previous pro model too. The aluminium extension tube now has a joint in the middle for more cleaning options and the power floor head is much larger than on the earlier version so you can whip through the dreaded chore in less time. The vacuum also comes with a crevice tool and brushed nozzle, which were all easy to fit though we did find them a little stiff to remove. You can see performance results of the Gtech Pro and competitor vacuums here How do Gtech test the Pro’s runtime?

Compact and efficient, our lightweight cordless vacuums make short work of cumbersome jobs. They're a great alternative to corded vacuums, which can make vacuuming between rooms and up and down stairs even more difficult, and less enjoyable too. Instead, all you need to do is charge your vacuum and enjoy the freedom of a cordless cleaning experience. It's that simple. There are internationally agreed methods (IEC standards) of measuring vacuum cleaner performance on carpets, hard floors and hard floors with deep crevices. We consider products with a cleaning width of at least 250mm (10 inches), which achieve an average score of at least 60% across the 3 tests, to be ‘high performance’. When shopping for sweeper spares you will need to know your model number, which can be found on the rating plate on the underside of the main cleaning unit. Now that the comparison is out of the way, let’s take a look at all the other features of the Gtech Pro 2. Key FeaturesSome homes with rigorous cleaning routines and 4 inhabitants (and pets!) filled their bag in around 3 weeks; others used the same bag for a couple of months. We chose a wide range of household styles and cleaning routines to replicate those of real-life customers. Overall, the GTech Pro 2 features plenty of improvements over the first model and provides a much better vacuuming experience. This is all thanks to the superior design and build quality, as well as the various attachments that turn this vacuum into a multi-purpose cleaning tool.

We test all of our floorcare products in accordance with IEC standards (international guidelines that all floorcare manufacturers have to follow). When used in ‘Eco’ mode, the Pro can run for an average of up to 40 minutes when used for above the floor cleaning; when used in ‘Max’ mode (recommended for tougher challenges), the average runtime is up to 20 minutes. The bright LED lights across the main head were our favourite feature overall though. They really made a difference when cleaning by illuminating dirt and dust that we’d otherwise easily miss under our sofas and beds. Performance Double extension tube – the extension tube on the first model was one unit, whereas there are two separate units on the Pro 2. This allows you more flexibility in choosing your length. So, for example, you’d use just one tube for vacuuming the car or use the double for reaching down below larger sofas. It’s important to us that we use the best possible components in our products. That’s why we’ve gone for LG Lithium-ion batteries - they’re reliable and robust, two of the most important elements for professional users. And while there are plenty of other similarities, like the 4 hour charge time and 40 minutes run time, there are some important areas where the new model outshines the first one.Cleaning the stairs is no longer a tiresome job either with the help of our lightweight lightweight handheld vacuums. And pesky crumbs? That's a job for our speedy cordless carpet sweepers.

This is our second GTech Pro, I was so pleased with the earlier model I bought for work. We decided to get another one for the home. This latest model is an improvement to the earlier model. It feels more robust. Easy to use, lightweight, and well designed. Really please with it. – Richard B What’s the Downside…? Sturdier design – straight out of the box, you can feel that the design is much more thought of in this model, and the whole vacuum feels much better as a whole. Our batteries maintain 88% of their performance after 1000 cycles. If we charge and run down a battery once a week, the battery would last for up to 19.2 years. If we do this twice a week, the battery would last for up to 9.6 years. All information provided is a guide only. BuySpares accepts no liability for any problems occurred whileWe can’t test our batteries for 10 years before we launch a product - this is unrealistic for any brand. Instead, we do an accelerated-use test in our labs to see how long the batteries last in real-life simulations. This involves continuously charging the batteries and then letting them run down while monitoring their performance. It seems that some people with pets have had some problems with the suction power and the bag capacity. This section explains how we calculate the claims we make in our advertising. Where we can, we test our products in accordance with IEC guidelines using standard IEC62885-2 - these are official international standards for comparing vacuum cleaners. If there are no suitable test standards, we use real homes and record real-life data. Data sample size varies - we test in at least 10 different households and up to 50 if it is practical to do so. Finally, if neither of the above is suitable, we will set up laboratory testing to try and replicate real-life usage. How do Gtech work out Pro's bag usage per year?
