About this deal

As a Crown Dependency, the Isle of Man issues its own banknotes and coins, which feature the Queen. It represents the TT Tourist Trophy racing which started in 1907 and takes place every May or June in the dangerous mountain terrain of the Snaefell Mountain Course. The course consists of each lap that is about 60 km through urban streets and the mountains. William Milner was a wealthy safe maker who settled in Port Erin from Liverpool in the mid-1800s. His reason for moving to the Island was to recuperate from an illness. He fell in love with the little seaside town and began investing in its livelihood. Base metal, (–2)*, 2-digit die mark like: AA/AB/AC/AD/AE(?)/AF(?) under the Prefix A, and BB/BC/BD/BE/BF and BA (1988 50p Xmas coin) under the Prefix B ** on 1979 50p CN coin. Let’s see what factors affect the rarity of the coin, as well as its design and commemoration. How Rare is the 1997 Isle of Man 50 Pence Coin? The International Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) races started in 1907 and have continued annually since then. Considered one of the most dangerous races in the world due to its high number of deaths in its 90-year existence. It’s also the oldest continuing race in motorcycle history. Each year for six days, the island welcomes motorcycle fans from all over the world to watch daring racers compete on the Snaefell Mountain Course, each lap about 60 km through urban streets and mountainous terrain. Racers can achieve average top speeds of about 200 kph. 2007 TT Motorcycle Race Isle of Man 50p Coin Our circulating coins depend on how many the Government demand, in which case the issue limit is unlimited.' Unbelievably, the first race was held in 1907 – exactly 90 years before this coin was issued and now over 110 years ago.

The Obverse design is that of a mature crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The image features Her Majesty facing right and wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland diamond tiara. The tiara had been a wedding gift from Queen Mary, her grandmother, in 1947. She is seen wearing this tiara in the Machin and Gottwald portraits as well. The 1980 UNC<#2>, BB, in contrast to the 1980 UNC<#1>, is much better in terms of finish standard. A light frosting effect and the likely mirror-liked field can be seen. Like other Isle of Man coins, it’s difficult to discuss the rarity of the coin since the mintage information has not been publicly shared. But based on the small population of the crown dependency and because they are not in circulation in the UK, it’s a reasonable assumption to think that these coins aren’t extremely easy to find.
