GREEN Epimax® ExCetra cream 100g, 500g [previously ExCetra® Cream] [equivalent to Cetraben ® cream] Hydromol Ointment is for general use as an emollient to moisturise and soften dry skin. It may be used instead of soap. Hydromol ointment contains emulsifying wax, liquid paraffin and yellow soft paraffin. When you apply the ointment to the skin, or use it instead of soap, these oils stay on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. Formulated with key ingredients for skin health, Hydromol Ointment is a soft ointment which moisturises the skin. A 3 in 1 all-purpose emollient, bath additive and soap substitute, it contains no fragrances, colourings, additives or preservatives and is suitable for all ages.Liquid paraffin, isopropyl myristate, cetomacrogol emulsifying wax, myristyl myristate, sodium pyrrolidone carboxylate, ceteareth-20, phenoxyethanol, parabens (methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, iso-butylparaben and n-butylparaben), sodium lactate solution and purified water.

Please be aware that this product contains Liquid Paraffin which is highly flammable, keep away from open or gas fires or hobs and naked flames, including candles etc. and not to smoke when using these paraffin containing preparations. Emollients are used to hydrate the skin. Their effects are short lived and they should be applied frequently. To be effective, adequate quantities of emollients should be prescribed. Suitable quantities to prescribe: see Emollient Prescribing Guidelines These recommended amounts are for twice daily application for an adult. To keep the skin well hydrated, leave-on emollients should be applied in adequate amounts to sufficiently cover dry and inflamed areas. 500g = 1 tub or pump dispenser. Quantities required will vary with the size of the patient, the severity and extent of skin dryness. For children approximately half this amount is suitable. All-purpose emollient – Apply to the affected area with a smooth stroking action in the direction of hair growth. Use liberally as often as required. Ensure hands are clean before applying.
