About this deal

They are not ideal for holding up over long periods of time so not ideal for bird watching or travel. I am really pleased with the build quality and the crystal clear view the optics of these binoculars delivers they were also delivered very quickly thank you. Hi we are going to Costa Rica later this year and I want to get a pair of binoculars for my husband. This was more than I expected and gives me confidence in the company - which honoured its lifetime VIP guarantee. I have to say that, unfortunately the original pair arrived with a manufacturing fault which made them unusable.

I've always had binoculars of one type or another, but never anything either expensive or of real quality. For anyone who wears eyeglasses, the most suitable pair of binoculars would be those that have a longer eye relief. These days manufacturers are moving towards Roof-Prism binoculars which have straight barrels and are significantly lighter, easier to handle while not compromising on image quality. Avalon Mini HD binoculars weigh only 416 grams and fit in your jacket pocket, handbag or glove compartment.

The definition of “fully coated” is that all of the air on the glass surface has an anti-reflection coating. I notice you seem to favour the Avalon models in many of your recommendations but personally I am more familiar with Nikon (owning their cameras) so interested in key differences? They are light to carry and feel like a quality product, easy to focus and for compact binoculars they provide a superb Image. Some of the items on the Avalon site actually look expensive, say the 20x50 Porroprism binocular or tripod adaptor.

On top of that, they are lighter than the Nikon’s, more compact designed and very comfortable to use. The binoculars are as good as I expected although “instructions” were poor but this was not a problem. easy to use and small enough to lose in my little rucksack… very pleased I bought them , well worth the money .

With Avalon binoculars for example, 10×42 and 8×32 both work very well for birdwatching and general use. I then tried them out , I was not disappointed they really are fantastic they let in plenty of light the image is sharpe. The following guide talks about what to look for when picking out a pair of binoculars and some of the features that top-notch bird watching binoculars have.

I haven't looked through any of the latest alpha bins, but if they are better than then Monarchs, they must be something special. For some time now I have wondered if I could afford a good quality pair of binoculars that were small enough to put in my pocket.

I can’t really see the shore birds miles away, but the diving ducks and eagles on my side of the bay are well within view. I have currently a 10 x 42 pair (not Avalon) with which I was struggling holding for any length of time. I am very happy with them, they fit easily into my bag, don’t get too heavy when using them for longer periods and the images are lovely and clear.
